Experiencing swollen gums is very uncomfortable. The swelling of the gums is usually accompanied by agonizing pain. The causes vary but are generally due to the influence of oral bacterial infections. The perforated tooth becomes one of the entrances of bacteria to the gum area which further triggers the infection.
Pain due to swelling of the gums can be overcome by taking anti-inflammatory and antipyretics drugs. But if you want to overcome it in a natural way, some of the following ingredients can be used =
- Aloe vera.
Use aloe vera gel as a mouthwash. The gel can also be used to be applied to the area of swollen gums. Substances in the aloe vera help to relieve inflammation of the gums.
Brew liquorice and use the water to gargle. Liquorice can cure gum pain due to inflammation. This plant may be rather difficult to find because it grows in a region with plenty of sun exposure.
- Salt water.
This method is very commonly used as a traditional medicine for a toothache. But salt water can also be used to treat gum disease. Brew salt in warm water and gargle with this water.
- Clove oil.
This oil is able to kill bacteria in the mouth. Simply drop the clove oil on the sore gums to relieve swelling of the gums.
