Rather strange indeed, but a recent study from Brazilian researchers revealed that a man’s neck size could reveal about the health of his heart. So how is the link between the size of the neck with the heart?
According to the study, men with large neck will keep a higher risk of heart disease. The conclusion was drawn by the method of analysis from 4,000 men.
The explanation: Generally the size of the neck circumference of an average man is 15 inches. If more than that then every 1 inch increase means increases insulin resistance in the body by 32 percent. In this case, there will be an increased risk of high blood pressure, high triglyceride and a decrease in good cholesterol.
And the enlarged neck circumference exceeds 15 inches, meaning there is an accretion of fat there. This triggers the inflammation, so it appears the buildup of plaque in the carotid arteries of the neck.
As a result of plaque in the vessels of the neck, then the risk of the emergence of heart disease will be higher. That’s the conclusion of a study reported by men’shealth page. The possibilities are even up to three times greater for men who have a large neck circumference, to suffer from heart disease and stroke.
